Serial kisser Emraan Hashmi is interfering in the final cut of Crook. Mahesh Bhatt and Emraan have had a huge spat over a steamy sequence in the film that is giving Emraan the jitters, now that he has become a father, reports Mumbai Mirror.

Emraan is feeling embarrassed about having done this scene and wants his uncle and mentor Mahesh Bhatt (the producer of Crook) to splice it off entirely, or at worst, cut its length the best he can.

The bone of contention is a scene in which Emraan makes love to a white woman, Shella Allen, who plays an integral role in the film. Says a source, “When Emraan shot it, he was quite okay with it. But now that he has a slightly different image after Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, he wants to shed his serial-kisser image.

At this point of time in his career, he is not happy doing lovemaking scenes. He doesn't want to smooch too, in fact. Ekta Kapoor wanted him to kiss the Mandakini look-alike girl in Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, but Emraan politely refused.”

Emraan and Mahesh have been arguing about this for quite a few days. Says Emraan, “Yes. There is a conflict. Bhatt saab and I have different visions on this. I want the erotic skin content [sic] on Crook to be cut down because Crook is not a skin flick. It is much more than an entertainer.

It touches the serious issue of racial discrimination with Indians in Australia. I don't want Crook to be another Murder or Jism. Also if you see my recent film Quatim, it didn't have any intimate scene but yet the film worked quite well,” adds Emraan.

Talking about the spat, Bhatt refuses to bow down to his nephew's wishes. He told Mumbai Mirror, “Emraan's quest for respectability is completely disconnected from the box office. Today, the audience wants to be gratified and not edified. In Crook, we have a great product, which has the added component of sensuality. I see no reason to water it down,” adds Bhatt.
