New Delhi: Bollywood's veteran actor Dilip Kumar and wife Saira Banu are elated with Mumbai court's decision. The court has lifted the stay order on their bunglow on 48 Pali Hill in Mumbai.
According to reports, property developer Samir Bhojwani had leased out his land, estimated to be worth Rs 150 crore, where Dilip Kumar built a two storey bungalow which has been his residence since 1953. And now in 2010, when Dilip Kumar tried to demolish his bunglow to construct a highrise, Bhojwani objected claiming that the land was leased to the actor for 999 years. And during this period, lessee would not alter or demolish the structure without the owner's consent.
So Bhojwani filed a complaint and last month the same court had stayed the re-development.
As quoted by a daily, Saira Banu said, "It is wonderful news. Yusuf saab (as she fondly calls him) is delighted. Allah kare that everything ahead too goes well."
Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar will now meet the lawyers to decide the action plan.
