New Delhi:  Deepika Padukone's dialogue 'I am a virgin' in her upcoming quirky comedy 'Finding Fanny' has not gone down well with the Censor Board which has objected to the use of the 'virgin' word and has asked the film's makers to replace it.

The 28-year-old actress questioned the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for not being consistent in its guidelines as it gave a green signal to the word in the trailer of the film.

"I feel there is no consistency... If it is allowed in the trailer, then why not the film? A trailer released before also get a censor certificate. We are not against the Censor Board at any level, nor are we trying to question them. In fact, people watch the trailer much more than actually going to a theatre and watching the film," she told reporters here during the promotion of the film.

According to the film's trailer, Deepika plays a widow and uses the dialogue when her husband dies on the wedding day. Directed by 'Cocktail' director Homi Adajania, 'Finding Fanny' is an English/Hindi satirical film. It is releasing on September 12.

Homi is clueless about his next step and said he is yet to think any replacement for the word.

"We had asked CBFC why the dialogue could not be used in the film. They just said that it doesn't sound good and asked us to find an alternative word for it. I really don't know why the word in the film is such a problem. I don't know what to do," he said.

The Goa-based film narrates the story of five odd balls who are on a journey to find an old postman's childhood love, Stefanie 'Fanny' Fernandes. It also stars Arjun Kapoor, Pankaj Kapur, Dimple Kapadia and Naseeruddin Shah.

The film will also be screened at the upcoming Busan International Film Festival.
