New Delhi: Deepika Padukone who is roaring high with the success of #HappyNewYear recently revealed the story behind how she got the role in the flick.
When Farah was finalizing the cast of ‘Happy New Year, there were many actresses who wanted to the film. Apparently Farah's phone kept ringing by the calls of actresses expressing their desire to do the film.
On the question how she got the role in ‘Happy New Year' Deepika replied, “Apparently, everyone was calling her (Farah) and telling her that they want to do the movie. I never want to step on someone's toes. She is Maa for me. I never go to a director and say ‘I want to do your movie' and apparently, other people were doing that. Farah was wondering why I wasn't picking up the phone and expressing my desire to do the film. Basically, we both kept talking about ‘Happy New Year' and would ask each other ‘So, what's happening?' as quoted by a website.
Deepika wanted to do the film but just couldn't express her desire openly. Deepika put ‘Even Czar is asking, who is the heroine of Happy New Year?' as her BBM status. When Farah saw her status she knew Deepika wanted to do the film but couldn't ask.
After the status Shah Rukh asked Deepika if she wanted to do the film and Deepika ended up playing female lead in ‘Happy New Year'.
Deepika is playing the role of a Marathi dancer Mohini in the film. ‘Happy New Year' released on October 23 and has made some box office records already.
Deepika who was recently nominated by J& K CM Omar Abdullah for ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' has been appreciated for her role in the film. Well, after Salman Khan it would be quite interesting to see this leggy lass wielding a broom to participate in the cleanliness drive.
On a TV chat show Deepika opened up about her equation with Ranbir Kapoor and alleged boyfriend Ranveer Singh. Deepika who dated Ranbir Kapoor in the past is rumoulry dating Ranveer Singh.
When asked about her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor on a talk show she openly accepted that she was heartbroken after her breakup with Ranbir and took some time to recover.
Currently Deepika is busy shooting Bajirao Masatni in which she will be seen romancing hot Ranveer Singh.
