New Delhi: Two big flicks have hit the theatres this week but as expected, one leads ahead of the other.

Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer ‘Daawat-e-Ishq' has won the competition with a slight better margin than Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Afzal Khan's ‘Khoobsurat' which despite creating a lot more buzz compared to the former couldn't fetch much audience.

The flick which is loosely inspired by 1980's Hrishikesh Mukherjee's ‘Khoobsurat' having Rekha in the lead role opened to a tepid response on Friday and garnered just Rs 2.75 cr. A slight rise was witnessed in its collection on Saturday where it made Rs 3.35 cr  taking the two days total to Rs 6.10 cr, according to a leading Bollywood daily Koimoi.

Daawat-e-Ishq's collection couldn't be considered as commendable since it has more number of screen counts. The film, which raises serious issue like dowry system and also underlines the misuses of Section 498 A, on Friday made Rs 3.75 cr while on Saturday it managed Rs 4.25 cr nett. Habib Faisal's directorial two days collection stands at Rs 8 cr nett.

Both the films have received mixed reviews from critics. The positive word of mouth should help them witness better footfalls today considering it's a holiday.

Khoobsurat is expected to make Rs 4 cr to end up its first weekend collection at around Rs 11. On the other hand, Daawat-e-Ishq should fetch over Rs 5 cr to take the weekend collection nearly to Rs 13 cr nett.

Both movies could have a good run at box office in its second week since Desi Kattey and Mumbai 125 km are up for release and have a minimal level of buzz.
