Mumbai, May 29: Child artiste Saloni Dani, who made people laugh with her witty one-liners and her ‘Gangubai' acts in comedy shows, says despite enjoying acting she wants to become a veterinary doctor.

“I want to become a veterinary doctor. I love pets a lot.  I have a dog at home, called Sara,” Saloni told PTI in an interview.

Saloni, who faced the camera at the age of three, shot to fame with ‘Chhote Miyan', a comedy reality show in 2009 and later captivated viewers by co-hosting a dance reality show - ‘Chak Dhoom Dhoom' for kids.

She was barely three when she showed signs of her acting and soon afterwards bagged a Marathi film, in which her comic timing was appreciated.

“My grandfather as well as my parents have been involved with theatre. And I used to mimic television actors when I was very small,” Saloni said.

“I enjoy my work. I love to act. Also, I like doing comedy. I like Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra and would like to work with them,” the nine-year-old child artist said.

Ask her about how she copes with her studies and pat comes the reply, “I study hard. And this year, I secured 92 per cent,” the class IV student said.

Saloni is blessed with an amazing memorising power, says Saloni's mother Sanyogita, a psychologist, adding, “She has got a good memory. She has not taken any classes in acting.”

Saloni, who was also seen in Anees Bazmee's ‘No Problem' that released last year, has not signed any films ever since despite offers, Sanyogita said.

“There are offers from films but we have not signed anything yet. There are offers for daily soaps too but I don't want her to do it as it is time consuming. So reality shows suit her as shooting happens once a week. Apart from comedy we want to try something different for her,” she said.

The young actress has now lent her voice for Clamantha, the over enthusiastic clam, for Disney Channel's animation series ‘Fish Hook'.

“I love Disney stories and I am enjoying myself playing Clamantha in ‘Fish Hooks'. I like Clamantha very much, she makes me laugh. I am loving this new experience of dubbing in the studio,” Saloni said.

‘Fish Hook', created by famous children's book illustrator and author Noah Z Jones, is set inside a giant fish tank in Bud's Pet Shop and revolves around three fishes.

The show is aired every Saturday at 11 am on Disneychannel. PTI
