New Delhi: TV show "Comedy Circus" has entered the Limca Book of Records 2013 for being the longest running reality comedy series.

The official website of the Limca Book of Records confirmed the news and a Facebook page of Sony Entertainment Television celebrated the record, by posting "Mast record banaya!" along with a poster of the ongoing season - "Comedy Circus Ke Mahabali".

"The show has had 16 seasons with 71 different themes, 113 artistes participating, nine co-judges, 115 celebrity guests and 16 anchors," read the website.

The show, produced by Optimystix, is aired on Sony Entertainment Television. A reality-based, stand-up comedy, it has been bringing the countries' TV celebrities to perform with professional comedian partners on a competitive and challenging stage since June 16, 2007.

Its first season was judged by Archana Puran Singh, Satish Shah and Johny Lever, while Shekar Suman and Rohit Shetty are among the many celebrity judges who have also judged it.

The 14th season - "Kahani Comedy Circus Ki", started Jan 7, 2012 with Archana and Sohail Khan taking the judges' seat. Archana, whose perfect comic timing has been seen in films and TV shows galore, has been a part of the show since its inception.
