New Delhi, May 18: After the opening season of Coke Studio received a tremendous response, the unique show is all set to continue its journey to explore India's rich music landscape
The second season of the MTV show will go on air in July with the focus on showcasing diversity and innovation through eight episodes, 12 producers and over 200 musicians. Staying true to the core idea of a fusion music project, Coke Studio 2 will see independent, classical, folk and popular artists combine their creative energies in a rare live performance.
While Leslie Lewis was the mentor for the musical productions last time, composers like Amit Trivedi, Karsh Kale, Clinton Cerejo, Shantanu Moitra, Ehsaan and Loy have been roped in for this season.
“While season 1 of Coke Studio truly exemplified the melodious symphony of diverse genres of music ranging from famous Bollywood rhythms, traditional tunes, modern western, folk, season 2 promises to further amplify this magical experience for the music lovers,” said Wasim Basir, Director - Integrated Marketing Communications, Coca-Cola India.
Aditya Swamy, EVP & Business Head, MTV India, said, “The most exciting part of this season is the making of over 40 original songs which has been a hugely creative and collaborative process. Our partnership with Coca-Cola is special to us and we value their faith in MTV.”
