New Delhi: After smashing Box Office records by hitting a ton within three days of its release ‘Chennai Express' has set a new benchmark of Rs150 cr within a week.
The SRK-Deepika starrer has minted Rs 157.7 cr within a week inclusive of paid preview shows.
Confirms trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, “ChennaiExpress collected Rs 156.70 cr nett in Week 1, inclusive of paid previews. ALL RECORDS SHATTERED!”
Since, it was a holiday for Independence Day on Thursday, the flick grossed good with Rs. 19.6 crore.
Here is the breakthrough: “ChennaiExpress PP 6.75 cr, Fri 33.12 cr, Sat 28.05 cr, Sun 32.5 cr, Mon 12.62 cr, Tue 11.5 cr, Wed 12.56 cr, Thu 19.6 cr. Total: 156.7 cr.”
Rohit Shetty's train is unstoppable and looks like by the end of the second week of its release, Chennai Express will enter the Rs 200 cr club easily leaving behind Aamir Khan's ‘3 Idiots'.
