New Delhi: Deepika Padukone's public criticism on deletion of the word ‘virgin' from her upcoming, ‘Finding Fanny' has hit it right.

The Censor Board has taken its objection back and the scene would not require any such cut anymore.

CBFC had initially expressed the use of word ‘virgin' in one of the sequences in ‘Finding Fanny' as inappropriate. Following which, the entire ‘Finding Fanny' film had even went for public criticism and actress Deepika Padukone went on records and said, “I feel there is no consistency… If it is allowed in the trailer, then why not the film? A trailer released before also get a censor certificate. We are not against the Censor Board at any level, nor are we trying to question them. In fact, people watch the trailer much more than actually going to a theatre and watching the film.”

The director of the film, Homi Adjania too expressed disgust and said, “We had asked CBFC why the dialogue could not be used in the film. They just said that it doesn't sound good and asked us to find an alternative word for it. I really don't know why the word in the film is such a problem. I don't know what to do.”

Now, after being countered with many such films using the similar word, the CBFC chairperson Leela Samson admitted that it was a  mistake on their own part to not allow the usage of the word ‘virgin' in the film. The lady further added that she wasn't aware of it until the team approached her, making her realize about the justification of the word.

Finding Fanny also stars Pankaj Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Naseeruddin Shah along with Ranveer Singh in a cameo appearance apart from Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor. The film is slated for release on September 12.
