10 celebs whose sudden death shocked the industry!

With the recent death of actor Sanjit Bedi aka Dr. Omi from “Sanjeevani” there has been a wave of grief across the TV industry.Although Bedi was suffering from a brain ailment and had been in coma for a while, his death has come as a shock for his family and friends.Actor Karanvir Bohra says that imagining him to be silent and not being there will be weird.Sanjit Bedi is survived by his wife.While the industry is still trying to cope up with his loss, there have been other celebs as well whose sudden death took away the industry, both big and small screen, with complete shock:Ashraf-ul-HaqA talented actor, Ashraf-ul-Haq, breathed his last on 17th Februaury, 2015 in Mumbai. He was suffering from a rare disorder called Myelodysplastic syndrome and was going through a treatment from two years before his death.Ashraf had worked in more than 30 films including Deewar, Paan Singh Tomar, Fukrey and Company.He was survived by his wife and 9-year old son.Jaspal BhattiOnce known as the ‘king of comedy', Jaspal Bhatti was famous for taking up common man's issues satirically. An actor, a director and a producer, one of Jaspal Bhatti's most famous shows was the television series ‘Flop Show'.Bhatti died on 25th October 2012 in a car accident near Jalandhar, just one day before the release of his film ‘Power Cut'. He is survived by his wife Savita Bhatti, son Jasraj and daughter Raabiya.Abir GoswamiAbir Goswami passed away on May 31, 2013 at the age of 38 years. Abir died of a massive heart attack while he was on a treadmill in the gym. It is said the he had rheumatic heart disease.The actor worked in serials like Kumkum, Hotel Kingston, Yahan Main Ghar-Ghar Kheli, Pyar Ka Dard, etc and in some movies as well.He is survived by his wife.Rubina ShergillRubina Shergill, popularly known for her performance in Zee TV's “Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein” as ‘Inspector Simran Kaushik' passed away on 23 December 2011 in Mumbai.Shergill was suffering from asthma and had a severe attack on the sets after which she was rushed to the hospital. She slipped into coma during treatment and eventually breathed her last in December 2011.Divya BhartiDivya Bharti started her career at the age of 16 with a Telgu film “Bobbili Raja” and later took away the Bollywood industry with her charm. She won millions of hearts with her work in films like ‘Deewana' & ‘Shola Aur Shabnam'.Her life and career saw a drastic end when she died after falling from the 5th floor of her apartment building on 5th April, 1993.While there were numerous speculations regarding her death, the reason for her death still remains a mystery.Vivek ShauqViviek Shauq, who was a noted actor and a comedian, died on 10th January 2011 due to heart attack.Shauq had worked in various Hindi and Punjabi movies along with various television serials, theatre and television commercials.He is survived by his wife and three children.Jiah KhanJiah Khan made her debut in the B-town in 2007 with Ram Gopal Verma's ‘Nishabd'. He died at the age of 47 from a heart attack on 18th February, 2010 in Mumbai.Kuljeet RandhawaThe former Gladrags model, Kuljeet Randhawa committed suicide in her Juhu apartment on 8th February, 2006.Randhawa had worked in several television series including Hip Hip Hurray, C.A.T.S., and a lead role in Star One's Special Squad.Silk SmithaSilk Smitha was Tollywood actress who entered the industry as an extra actress. She was first noticed for her role as "Silk" in the 1979 Tamil film ‘Vandichakkaram'.In her 17 years career, Silk did over 450 films in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.She was known for her dance numbers and her bold performances.She was found dead in her apartment in Chennai on 23rd September, 1996. While it is believed that Silk committed suicide, it is also said that she was going through depression because of her declining career, financial problems, disillusionment in love and an alcohol dependency which resulted in her death.
