Mumbai: Superstar Aamir Khan has been roped in as the national icon in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections that start in April. He will be a part of EC's voter awareness initiatives.
Superstar Aamir Khan's TV show Satyamev Jayate has created his image of a celebrity who believes in working for social causes. Aamir's image will now be used by the Election Commission of India to encourage the public to vote in the upcoming general elections. He has been roped in as the national icon in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections that start in April. He will be a part of EC's voter awareness initiatives.
Along with Aamir, Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, boxer MC Mary Kom, badminton ace Saina Nehwal and former president APJ Abdul Kalam will also work towards the same goal through various voter education programmes.
