New Delhi, Apr 12: Veteran Bollywood actor Pran will be conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2012.
Pran, full name Pran Krishan Sikand, is 93 years old and is presently unwell in Mumbai. He has appeared in 350 films, and has won the Filmare Awards multiple times.
Pran is considered one of the greatest villains of Bollywood since the 1920s.
He is among CNN's Top 25 Asian actors of all time. Born in Ballimaran, Old Delhi, Pran hails from a wealthy Punjabi family. His father was a civil engineer and a government civil contractor.
Pran was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the government in 2001. He has two sons, Arvind and Sunil, and a daughter, Pinky.
