Mumbai: On more than one occasion recently, our B-town actors have been appreciated for their solidarity with those in need. Whether it is to defend a co-star on Twitter or support an actor going through tough times, our film fraternity is setting a stupendous example of togetherness these days.
Even more appreciable is the current trend of celebrities coming together to help the drought-stricken farmers of Maharashtra.
While recently the legendary actor Nana Patekar, Makrand Anaspure and cricketer Ajinkya Rahane extended help to the farmers, now it's a renowned star of B-town who has come to the forefront.
He is none other than our Khiladi actor Akshay Kumar. It is learnt that the ‘Singh is Bliing' actor will be contributing Rs 90 lakhs in assistance to the drought-hit farmers.
The 48-year-old actor will be providing Rs 50,000 to 30 farmers of each district of Maharashtra for the next 6 months.
The noble mission was initiated in the presence of Beed district's IG Vishwas Nangre Patil and Akshay's representative Vedant Bali.
Indeed, this act of the ‘Khiladi' is one of the most laudable!
