Some of them in the past have really done great business.With the latest trend of making biopics hitting the B-town, many actors and actresses have already played the real life characters on the screen while some of them will some join the bandwagon soon.Here is the list of B-town beauties who got a chance to hit the silver screen with a biopic based on real life characters or will come up with one in future:Vidya Balan - Indira GandhiIf reports are to be believed, we'll soon see Bengali beauty Vidya Balan playing the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The biopic on former PM's life is being directed by Manish Gupta.Director Manish Gupta stated that the movie will be a tell-all tale about Indira Gandhi covering all events of her life right from her birth to assassination.Reportedly, Vidya has liked the script but is still sceptical about playing the role.Raveena Tandon - Benazir BhuttoRaveena Tandon is soon to join the biopic bandwagon of industry. She is likely to play former Pakistani PM Benazir Bhutto who was assassinated in 2007.Reportedly, Raveena had a meeting with the scriptwriter regarding the film. The actress has liked the script so much that she is keen to produce the yet-to-be titled project as well.While Raveena has suggested some changes in the script, she will soon be looking out for a director for the movie.Aishwarya – Dalbir Kaur (Sarabjit's sister)Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who is currently busy with her comeback film ‘Jazbaa' will soon be seen in a biopic directed by Omung Kumar.Omung Kumar is making a biopic on Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer from the village located near Indo-Pak border, who was mistaken for an Indian spy, after he crossed over to India from Pakistan in 1990. Sarabjit had succumbed to head injuries which he got when his jail inmates attacked him in May 2013.While this will be Omung's next project after Mary Kom, he confirmed that Aishwarya will be seen playing Sarabjit's elder sister Dalbir Kaur in the biopic which is titled ‘Sarabjit'. Sonam Kapoor - Neerja BhanotThe next name in this list is of Sonam Kapoor who will soon be seen in the biopic on Neerja Bhanot's life.While the film is titles ‘Neerja', Sonam will be seen playing the role of Neerja itself who lost her life on September 5, 1986, while she was trying to save the lives of passengers from terrorists on board the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73.The film is directed by Ram Madhvani who stated that this is a story that needs to be told with dignity and restraint.The shooting of the movie has already begun and Shabani Azmi will also be seen in the film, playing a very crucial role alongside Sonam.Kangana Ranaut – Meena KumariAfter the success of her sequel to Tanu weds Manu, Kangana Ranaut will soon be heading for another major project. She will soon be joining the biopic bandwagon.She will be seen playing the legendary Bollywood actress Meena Kumari in a biopic.While the movie will be directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the movie will be an adaptation of late journalist, Vinod Mehta's book, Meena Kumari: The Classic Biography.Meena Kumari, who is also known as yesteryear's ‘Tragedy Queen', passed away at the age of 39 because of alcohol addiction.The shooting of the film is expected to begin by the end of this year.Aishwarya Rai – Kiranjit AhluwaliaAishwarya Rai Bachchan was earlier seen in a biopic based on the true story of Kiranjit Ahluwalia.The movie was based on a Punjabi woman Kiranjit Ahluwalia, who was married to Deepak Ahluwalia, and went through domestic violence for ten years. Deepak also subjected her to spousal rape.After ten years and having two children with him, out of fear, Kiranjit sets her husband on fire while he was sleeping, two hours after another scene of domestic violence.The movie revolved around Ahluwalia's journey to freedom. It was released in 2006 and was directed by Jag Mundhra.Priyanka Chopra - Mary KomPriyanka Chopra too has a biopic in her kitty. She played Mary Kom in the biopic made by director Omung Kumar. The film was made on the life of World Boxing Champion 'Mary Kom'.Mary Kom is a five-times female World Boxing Champion and Olympic Bronze medalist. The movie focused on Mary's life right from her childhood to her victory in 2008 World Boxing Championships.While the movie was a directorial debut of Omung Kumar, the film was produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film was released in September 2014 and Priyanka's performance in the movie was well-acclaimed.Seema Biswas – Bandit queenThe Assamese beauty Seema Biswas rose to fame after her prominent role in the biopic 'Bandit Queen'. The movie which was directed by Shekhar Kapur focused on the life of bandit Phoolan Devi.Seema has been known for performing strong character roles. She also won the award for Best Actress in 1996 National Awards for the biopic.Vidya Balan – Dirty PictureReleased in 2011, Dirty Picture had the stunning Vidya Balan in the lead role. Vidya played the role of an erotic South-Indian actress Silk Smitha.While the movie revolved around the life of Silk Smitha, who was popularly known for her erotic roles, the directors clarified that the film was not based on Silk's life.Directed by Milan Luthria, the film had Tusshar Kapoor, Emran Hashmi and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles with Vidya Balan and was a complete success both commercially and critically. Suchitra Sen – AandhiVeteran actress Suchitra Sen along with Sanjeev Kumar did a biopic 'Aandhi' which was directed by Gulzar.A political drama 'Aandhi' was alleged to be based on the life of former PM Indira Gandhi and her relationship with her estranged husband.While Suchitra Sen played the role of Indira Gandhi in the movie, the film was not allowed its full release till Indira Gandhi was in power. The film was even banned during the 1975 emergency, just a few weeks after its release.
