New Delhi: The first promo of the much awaited 9th season of reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss' was unveiled yesterday. The star host Salman Khan hinted towards the phenomenon of ‘Double Trouble' in it. There is bound to be a lot of anticipation about what is hidden behind this punch line.
Does ‘Double Trouble' mean the show will feature couples this time? Well, couples have participated in the past but what if this season is only about them? Wouldn't it be so much more fun to see a house filled with couples?
If that's the case, we bring you a cheat sheet of a list of couples whose presence just might exemplify why we enjoy the show so much.
1. Gautami Kapoor and Ram Kapoor
Fans of this adorable couple haven't had much chance to see them together. Both of their careers are reaching new heights everyday, with their telly shows being a hit and Ram's career in Bollywood getting noticed. This couple, known for their immense commitment towards each other, would bring in the novelty element to the show.
2. Jennifer Wignet and Karan Singh Grover
Karan and Jenny were once the most talked about couple in telly town. Their chemistry helped their show, ‘Dil Mill Gaye', become one of the most successful shows. Realising their feelings for each other, they married in 2012. But their marriage met an early and disheartening fate when they parted ways in 2014. However, if they do appear on ‘Bigg Boss', just like Delnaaz and Rajeev did after their separation in the 6th edition of the show, they could also get closure.
3. Rashmi Desai and Nandish Sandhu
This couple shot to stardom with the Colors serial ‘Uttaran'. They married in 2012 but the following year Rashmi had a miscarriage. Following this incident, the couple started having problems in their life but now they are back to where they were. They participated in dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye 7' together and watching them perform the tasks in ‘Bigg Boss 9' would be a treat for their fans.
4. Mahi Vij and Jay Bhanushali
As far as Mahi is concerned, she has already confirmed that she has been approached for the show. Her pics at the Viacom 18 office suggest that she might have said yes. If Jay would accompany her, their cuteness might help them stay longer on the show. Who knows, they could be winners too!
5. Kashmira Shah and Krushna Abhishek
Kashmira started many fires in the house in the first season of the show. She is undoubtedly a veteran of the house and has tricks under her sleeve which never fail to entertain the audiences. And if her husband, Abhishek, joins the team it is going to be a party time for the viewers. With Kashmira's wit and Abhishek's humour, the fellow inmates will have a tough competition.
6. Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput
We all know how this couple, who met on their show ‘Pavitra Rishta', fell for each other. Sushant, who has started a promising career in Bollywood, is in a live in relationship with Ankita. His lady love is known for her tantrums and snobbish attitude. Well, in the eyes of the camera 24*7, it would be nice to see how Sushant manages to keep Ankita and himself out of trouble.
7. Amruta Khanvilkar and Himmanshoo Malhotra
They won hearts and the trophy of ‘Nach Baliye 7.' Apparently, if winning together is their habit, ‘Bigg Boss 9' might just be the perfect show they should participate in. In ‘Nach Baliye 7', their chemistry with each other impressed the judges and it would be worth seeing if it impresses viewers too when they are practically jailed in the house.
8. Ankita Patel and Karan Patel
The newly weds, whose marriage was attended by the biggest stars of the TV industry, seem not to have enough of each other. Well, the Bigg Boss house would definitely give them ample time. Karan, who is busy with his show ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' has the charm to woo ladies. Rumours had it that Ankita accompanied him when he was shooting an intimate scene with his on-screen wife. It would be interesting to see how Ankita would react to the attention Karan gets from his fellow female inmates.
9. Asha Negi and Ritwik Dhanjani
Asha and Ritwik aren't new to the space of reality shows. Apart from the show, ‘Pavitra Rishta' where they met, they participated in and won 'Nach Baliye 6' and also in a few episodes of the show ‘Yeh Hai Aashiqui.' Madly in love, as is evident from their pictures, this young couple would make it impossible for viewers not to be glued to their television screens.
10. Drashti Dhami and Neeraj Khemka
Drashti is the queen of telly town while Neeraj is the NRI business tycoon. A perfect example of east meets west, this couple got married in 2015. Since they are technically from two different worlds, Bigg Boss would give Neeraj time to understand Drashti's glitzy world. Their participation will surely make other inmates feel competitive.
