New Delhi: Legendary Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan who has been honoured this Republic Day with highest Padma Award of the country, the Padma Vibhushan expresses his gratitude and also remembers nobel laureate, poet, writer - Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore.

A spirit of patriotism and literature, of poetry and pride, of nationhood and divinity, explode within in waves of compassionate emotion. I walk through the portals of the residence of Nobel Laureate, poet, writer and the representative of cultural Bengal and indeed in many respects the entire world - Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore, in Kolkata at Jorasanko Thakur Badi, and sing the National Anthem for a visual recording, to be released on our Republic Day, 26th January !!
It is divinity to me .. and to many around the world a divine moment too when we softly step into the rooms of the immaculate Bengal residence of this great son of India, this incredible personality, taking in his words, his belongings and his memory.
And suddenly the words of the anthem written and composed by Tagore ring through the cool and warm afternoon of the well appointed courtyard of this home, as I walk from corner to corner in utmost awe and admiration of the multifaceted abilities of this great man !
The Anthem shall be released in theatres on the 26th hopefully, and shall become the voice on the 26th in Tv stations, radio and other ..
What inspired these greats of the world, with wisdom and wealth for the pursuance of poetry .. of the good of humanity, of the compassion for those less privileged, of leaving behind the essence of life and its worth .. what ??
Greatness does not come with the idea of immense recognition among those that seek commonness .. it comes from the inner sacrifice in the service of the common. Greatness shall come from the voice of the other, not one that resonates in its own belligerent tongue ..
I cannot have the strength or the intellect to recall my contribution as contribution ! That has to come from a distance from the eyes and the verbals of the others …. or else it is devoid of any recognition ..
I must also not indulge in the capacity of intellect or greatness … words, deeds, acts and beat of the heart for the other will and shall bring about true emotion which shall lead us to be endeared by the other ..
But that even not so, should be considered as even. What good shall it reflect if the self were to appraise or praise the self. The purpose of deed remains mournfully replete with such ideology. If the other does not express, it should be taken on as a failing in ourselves.. improve it, replace it with better good and continue to do so. If there is merit, it will show and express itself. If not then it was never worth mention at all ..
Improve thyself to such extent, that it be noticed and lauded by the other without provocation .. that then is true success, achievement and quality ..
I shall endeavour … that is mine … thou shall be witness .. that is yours ..
But … the aim, destination and its parking shall be possessed by the mass and the people. When they approve, no other consideration gets entertained ..
