New Delhi, Sep 14: How should a movie look like where its leading characters are without dialogues. Surely some of you might think about  Charlie Chaplin or Mr. Bean, but Anurag Basu hasn't just limited his leading artist to comedy but has stuffed emotions gracefully which will leave a lump in your throat.

Magical Ranbir Kapoor, though frustrated while he was shooting without any dialogues, looks a most enjoyable person on screen. This year he choose one script out of hundred, like he did last year holding only Rockstar, and gave his heart and soul to it.

For a deaf and mute attitude, one might feel pity for the innocent but Barfi takes you to an extraordinary ride and you are left with no options except to love him for his hilarious pranks and ‘never say die' approach.

The film is set in the beautiful hill station of Darjeeling where Murfi, as named by his family, is called as Barfi by the townsmen because his initial name sounds similar to latter one.

With no poignance over being a deaf and  mute person, Barfi enjoys life, makes people around him cheer with his pranks.  His occasional face-off with police brings smile to the eyes of spectators as if he is their best pal.

Soon Barfi falls in love with the rich and beautiful Bengali girl Shruti, played by Ileana D'Cruz. But that's not all for a perfect married life. Here Shruti is still in a state of confusion about whether she really loves Barfi. Left with a broken heart, Barfi shares a  bond with his childhood autistic friend Jhilmil played by Priyanka Chopra.

To start off, the film Barfi, is not about physical challenged persons for whom you feel pity. In fact the mute and deaf Barfi is livelier than any other normal human being.

Barfi knows how to tackle ticklish situations with a smile, filling others' life with happiness, making us realise the importance of our existence. Director Anurag Basu, after ‘Life in a Metro', has delicately handled the narrative of the film and took it to altogether to a different level.

Taking  note of the flaws, certain portion of the  first half could have been trimmed. You might get irritated for few minutes as no dialogues support both Ranbir and Priyanka.

The initial 15 minutes might be boring but it catches its pace slowly and steadily. Anurag like Life In A Metro has used the group humming on certain occasions which looks non-essential in the flick.

Overcoming all the negatives, the Ranbir-Priyanka duo outshines others with flair and zeal.

Ranbir looks more mature in the flick. His hilarious facial expression speaks louder than words. The innocence and simplicity of Barfi will surely win millions of hearts. Priyanka playing an autistic character is excellent in her performance. Ileana D'Cruz's innocent looks prove  why she is called as a superstar in South.

Pritam as music director, has once again done wonders with his composition. The melody he adds in the background, compliments the scenes and never interrupts the flow.

I will go with 3.5/5 stars. Barfi, is not the best flick in recent times but it surely deserves a watch.
