Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh High Court today dismissed a petition which sought that the title of the movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan' starring Bollywood actor Salman Khan should be changed since it allegedly hurts the feelings of Hindus.
Dismissing the plea, Justice Rajendra Menon told the petitioner that the Censor Board has been constituted to look into different aspects of movies and the petitioner should approach the Board if he had any grievance.
Petitioner Atul Jeswani, the district president of Hindu Seva Parishad, a Hindu organisation, had alleged in his plea that “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” director Kabir Khan, actor Salman Khan and producer Rockline Venkatesh have hurt the sentiments of Hindus since Bajrangi happens to be the name of Lord Hanuman.
In movie posters and promos Bajrangi (Lord Hanuman) has been linked with Bhaijaan which is “very offending”, the petitioner had told the court.
