New Delhi: Film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani' is grabbing a lot of eyes ever since it was announced.

Be it the life size sets to the characters to the music of the film, everything about the film made it to the headlines.

While ‘Bajirao Mastani' starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra is yet to hit the theatres, the film has already found itself surrounded by controversies.

Earlier, the song from the film ‘Pinga' got into controversy and then Peshwa descendants posed a problem for the film makers.

And now, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has another touble hovering over his dream project.

Actor Bharat Dabholkar, who was seen in Company has slammed Bhansali on social networking site Facebook, with a satirical post for modifying Peshwa Bajirao's love story as per his convenience.

In the post, Bharat has talked about Ananth Mahadevan's working style, with whom he is working on a historical film and has poked him for sticking to historical accuracies.

This is how his Facebook post looked like:

“It may not be the most diplomatic thing to say in public, but it has been weighing on my mind so I might as well say it. I hate working with a director like Ananth Mahadevan. I recently acted in a period film directed by him and was disgusted with his fanatical sticking to the correct historical and character details of the period , i.e. 1890. I kept telling him about creative liberties one should take but he wouldn't budge. I gave him many creative suggestions that would have made the film ‘sexier' so to say, but he kept turning them down saying that won't be authentic, that character is real and he/she wouldn't behave like that in that era. I mean, come on, what's this stubbornness? Just to give you a couple of examples, in one scene, set in 1890s, the protagonist wins a case in a British court. So I suggested that to demonstrate her happiness she should drop her pallu and dance on the judge's desk , with the bailiff and others dancing in chorus line and judge joining in, throwing in the air his white wig. He said NO.

In another scene there is this girl going abroad with a big suitcase, so I suggested that we can put a dead body in that suitcase so she can dump it mid -sea (will remind audiences of recent murder cases, so topical and fascinating, you would agree ) he said NO. And the list goes on and on. I got sick and tired of this sticking to authenticity of that period .

I would rather work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who takes these creative leaps (and damn historical realities) . Peshwa's wife dancing with her sauten in an alluring midriff showing dance (so deliciously erotic). Or the peshwa dancing and mouthing words like ‘dushman chi wat laavli (so topical and so close to how today's tapori Maharashtrians would talk, and therefore so relatable to the youth.) He could have also said that I can't do this because my film is based on true historical characters and I have to stick to authenticity, but he didn't. More strength to his tribe. And then there are these directors like Shri Mahadevan, chhya!! So Mr Mahadevan, I don't want to act in your films anymore. So next time you want a good looking and talented actor, look elsewhere.

Thank you.”

With such a mocking comment on ‘Bajirao Mastani', we wonder how Sanjay Leela Bhansali will react to it.
