Mumbai, May 21: Singers Babul Supriyo and Aditya Narayan were engaged in a duel on Wednesday night during a cricket match between music composers and singers of Bollywood at Juhu ground. The duel took an ugly turn when Babul and Aditya almost came to fisticuffs after the former pushed the latter.
Babul had been angry with Udit Narayan's little son ever since the latter got to host a popular TV reality show.Apparently, Babul was supposed to host the same but a screen test with Aditya worked against the singer. The tension was thus apparent during the match.
A media report quotes a source present at the match: “Babul just kept staring at Aditya. Finally, Aditya asked him what was wrong. Babul just got up and pushed the boy. Aditya asked him not to get physical.
"They started abusing each other and Babul pushed Aditya again. Wajid, Shaan and Salim Suleiman were present there and intervened before things got out of hand.”“Aditya's father Udit Narayan has spoken to the cops about the incident,” the source added.
Aditya Narayan says: “The lesser we speak about the incident, the better. It doesn't affect me and he doesn't matter to me at all.
"I don't wish to be a part of this murkiness, especially with someone who is at least 15 years elder to me and wants to get physical for no rhyme or reason.
"He has been my father's contemporary and I was there with my friends Sajid Wajid and Shaan. The whole idea of the cricket match was to get the music fraternity closer but that clearly did not happen.”
Aditya added, “This is not the first time. It happened three years ago as well. I was not going for this cricket match because I did not want to go through another incident. If he has any issue with me, he should come and talk to me instead of resorting to such absurd measures.
"However, we are not taking it lying down and we have taken enough measures to make sure that this does not happen again.”
