New Delhi: Filmmaker and censor board member Ashoke Pandit has stirred a new controversy with his vulgar tweet aimed at director Karan Johar in middle of the AIB roast debate.

Ashoke Pandit who is known to be close to ruling Bhartiya Janata Party is being largely criticized for his tweet by politicians and Bollywood personalities.

Salman Soz, a spokesperson for Congress party tweeted, "Filmmaker & censor board member @ashokepandit tweets filth about @karanjohar. Is this acceptable? He should quit or be removed."

In a series of tweets criticizing the programme organized by comedy group AIB, Pandit said, “Karan Johar could have easily shown his position while performing sex to his mom at home instead of making it public.#AIB Porn Show.”

In his earlier tweets in the morning today, he said, “Did the police give permission to #AIB even after they knew what B stands for?#Bakchod.”

Pandit who visited Ajmer Sharif to seek blessing has supported the enquiry initiated by Maharashtra government. “I support #MaharashtraGovts inquiry into #AIB a porn show on stage,” he twweted.

The first of its kind programme, roast featured a panel of eight, mostly comedians, and Karan Johar as the host. They roasted ‘Gunday actor Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, making jokes about their personal, sexual and professional lives. The jokes are being seen by offensive and vulgar by many.

Two police complaints alleging obscenity and vulgarity have been filed naming Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.

Vinod Tawde, cultural minister for Maharashtra government, tweeted yesterday, “On #AIBRoast, will only enquire if the AIB had taken appropriate certificate. No moral policing if they r allowed by law, I can't stop them.”
