New Delhi: Indian cricket team created history by winning a test series against Sri Lanka on their home turf for the first time in 22 years, on Monday. Under Virat Kohli, who put the captain's hat for a test series for the first time, India once again rejoiced with joy.
But, Twitterati thought someone else other than Virat deserves credit for the win.
Guess who? She is none other than Anushka Sharma.
The actress who is currently dating cricketer Virat Kohli received flak from the netizens after India was defeated in the semi final of the cricket World Cup this year. She was trolled on the Internet and blamed for Virat's poor performance.
Later, Virat had come to her girlfriend's defence and said, At a human level, I would say I was hurt and the people who said those things and the way they said should be ashamed of themselves."
Anushka had also given a befitting reply to the ones who blamed her, saying that Virat's and hers professional careers are parallel to their personal relationship. Neither of the two is the reason for other's downfall in the career.
So, now when things changed around, Anushka Sharma is being credited, congratulated and applauded for India's victory.
Many on the social media platform felt that if bricks were thrown at her then, she should be presented with flowers now.
