Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya visited actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha at the hospital where he is recovering after undergoing a bypass surgery.
Bachchan, 69, who has worked with Sinha in films like “Bombay to Goa”, “Kaala Patthar” and “Naseeb”, visited the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital here to wish him a speedy recovery.
“Shatrughan Sinha in hospital with a bypass heart surgery. Jaya and I immediately go and visit him.
He has done well and so have the doctors and he remains in his room, out of the ICU, chatting dime a dozen with his humour intact! So reassuring,” Bachchan posted on his blog.
Sinha, 66, had been admitted to the hospital on July 2 after he complained of breathlessness due to some paint work at his residence.
During investigations blockages were discovered in the coronary arteries. Based on medical advice Sinha underwent bypass surgery.
Bachchan said that it was traumatising to see friends in hospital beds but is glad to see Sinha on the road to recovery.
“Watching colleagues in hospital beds, suffering and in medical condition, is disturbing. But Shatrughan is in good spirits, as he always is, talking non-stop and showing no signs of the trauma he has been through. Thank god,” he added.
Bachchan also took to Twitter to write about his visit and hinted that his son Abhishek would be visiting Sinha soon. “Shatrughan and I started together almost in the Industry... he being 4 years younger! Was his usual humorous talkative self, may he recover well.
“He has been watching ‘Guru' in bed... twice he said...asked after Abhishek... they will go to visit him,” Bachchan tweeted.
