Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who was being targeted by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray since 2008, has finally agreed to be chief guest at an event organised by MNS film wing at Shanmukhanand Hall on Monday (Dec 23).
This followed a patch-up over phone, when Raj Thackeray rang up Big B to invite him for the event.
Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Sena, the MNS film wing, has decided to give insurance policies to its members to celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema. Big B will himself hand over the policies to MNCS members.
In 2008, a war of words had ensued between Raj Thackeray and the Bachhans, when Big B opened a girl's inter-college in Uttar Pradesh.
Raj Thackeray had then criticized Big B, saying actors who earn money in Maharashtra should open schools and colleges here.
Jaya Bachchan had then remarked that if Raj Thackeray wanted to open a school for girls, he should offer his own plot. She had also said, she knew only one Thackeray, and that was Bal Thackeray.
