Mumbai, Jul 17: Subhash Ghai's institute Whistling Wood had its 6th annual convocation in Mumbai on Wdnesday.
The ceremony was organized to felicitate over 200 talented film & media graduates for successfully completing their education at Whistling Wood.
The award ceremony night was held at Rangshardaa Auditorium, Mumbai.
The highlight of the awards night was Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The legendary actor was honored for his effortless contribution in the field of arts and films.
Santoor maestro Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and flute maestro Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia were also honoured with Whistling Woods Awards.
Amitabh Bachchan, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Hari Prasad Chaurasia received their Whistling Woods Maestro Awards from veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai. Over 200 students were felicitated for completing their education from Whistling Woods, a film institute founded by Ghai, and Big B handed over the degrees to them.
Speaking about his student days, Bachchan said "I topped in science and math...I decided to become a scientist but the one hour lecture on the first day in college made me realize that this is not meant for me. Now I am here...I don't know if I have done the right thing or not."
