New Delhi: Almost 2000 VVIP Indian nationals, including superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, will be exempted from security checks at American International airports.
The consensus was reached at a Global Entry Programme which was attended by officials from both the nations last month in New Delhi.
A list carrying names of 2000 renowned personalities is being prepared which will be revealed soon. According to sources, the names include former President Pratibha Patil, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, industrialist Mukesh Ambani, business tycoon Gautam Adani, apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
As of now, only seven countries Netherland, Panama, South Korea, Germany, Peru, Mexico and Canada are a part of the Global Entry Programme. A few selected personalities of these countries don't have to go through security checks at the airports.

This proposition would come as a relief to many personalities. In the past, security norms had posed troubles for many established names of India including late ex President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and Bolly start Shah Rukh Khan. Apart from them, actor Aamir Khan, John Abraham, former union minister Praful Patel and former diplomat Hardeep Singh Puri faced troubles at the airport.
