Vijay Raaz will also be seen in an important role.
Reportedly, Alia will be seen speaking in Kathiawadi dialect in a few scenes. Hence, Mr perfectionist Bhansali has contacted some of Mumbai's famous Gujarati theater personalities like Manoj Joshi and Supriya Pathak for help. Alia will take a month-long diction class for the fluency in the dialect.
Bhansali is co-producing Gangubai Kathiawadi with Jayantilal Gada’s Pen India Limited. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 11, 2020.
