New Delhi: Khiladi Kumar's magic has done the trick as his action thriller ‘Holiday-A Soldier Is Never Off Duty' has hit the bull's eye collecting Rs 41.32 cr in first three days of its release.

After all the more similar collection on Friday and Saturday the flick witnessed a superb growth on Sunday garnering Rs 16.80 cr nett in India.

“Holiday Fri 12.18 cr, Sat 12.34 cr, Sun 16.80 cr. Total: Rs 41.32 cr nett. India biz... FANTASTIC growth in biz on Sunday!”,  tweets trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.

Alia-Arjun's ‘2 States', which so far had the third biggest opening weekend of the year with Rs 38.26 cr, is now shifted to the fourth spot. Jai Ho and Gunday are still enjoying the top two slots with Rs 60.68 cr and Rs 43.93 cr respectively.

Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the flick has got a good response in metros, particularly in Mumbai and Delhi NCR.

However, trade analysts are of the view that the flick didn't performed as well as was expected. Despite getting massive numbers of screens of over 3500 and a thumps up the critics, the flick failed to storm at box office.

Akki's ‘Rowdy Rathore' which had lesser number of screens (2500) did comparatively more business (Rs 48.3 cr).

And despite everything in favour, it couldn't be said that it will make into the elite club of Rs 100 cr but fingers are crossed.

The flick, which also stars Sonakshi Sinha, is made at a budget of around Rs 110 cr. According to Taran Adarsh, “HOLIDAY - A SOLDIER IS NEVER OFF DUTY is an expensive film and the film will have to hold strong from Monday to Thursday to recover a substantial chunk of the investment from theatrical avenues.

Filmistaan, on the other, is witnessing decent footfalls in the theatres. Thanks to the positive word of mouth, the flick collected Rs 2.81 cr nett in India by Sunday.

“Filmistaan Fri 51 lacs, Sat 1.04 cr, Sun 1.26 cr. Total: Rs 2.81 cr nett. India biz... Super-strong word of mouth working wonders!”, confirms Adarsh.
