Just holding a typical melodrama, which again I would like to mention, has been portrayed in theatres and classic movies, could be seen in daily family drama even today. Ranjan just seems to capitalize the surprise hit.
Sure, it's a typical Bollywood melodrama, and you might shed copious tears, if you feel, and the story is rather unbelievable, but what the heck, it is a movie.
You won't hesitate to get yourself popcorn even if the film is running. Moreover you will prefer to wait at the beverage counter.
Another drawback is the long duration shots which could have been trimmed easily to help it immensely.
