New Delhi: Bollywood celebrities and especially Bachchans seem to be under scrutiny these days, as after Amitabh Bachchan getting into legal troubles over endorsing Maggi, it's now daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's turn.
Yes! Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who recently made news for signing Omung Kumar's next - a biopic on Sarabjit has landed in a legal soup.
As per the reports, late Sarabjit's another sister Baljinder Singh has decided to take legal action against Aishwarya and Omung Kumar. So much so that legal notice has also been sent across to the two, which will now decide the fate of the film.
Aishwarya who has earlier featured in intense roles in films like 'Provoked' and 'Guzaarish' was playing the role of Sarabjit's elder sister - Dalbir Kaur in the biopic. The film's makers were quite happy for roping in the blue-eyed beauty.
The film's producer Zeishan Quadri said in an interview, "We are extremely happy with the casting. Who better than Aishwarya can justify the role? The look is not yet decided, but whatever the demand of the character is, we will go with it accordingly. The research department will sit and decide on that, but yes it's a real story, so it will be a de-glam look."
Sarabjit Singh a farmer from Bhikhiwind in Punjab, who while farming in 1990 crossed over to Pakistan, was mistaken as an Indian spy and was given capital punishment in 1991 but wasn't hanged.
Sarabjit Singh was kept in jail for 23 years, before he was killed by a few inmates after the death of Afzal Guru in India. During the time, Sarabjit was in jail his sister Dalbir Kaur didn't leave any stone unturned to bring back her brother. As she didn't succeed in getting him released, now she is determined to show his real story to the world with the help of filmmaker Omung Kumar.
The film was supposed to go on floors by October, but now it will be seen how things shape up.
