Guess AIB team has landed in soup, as recently Bombay High Court has ordered authorities to reply on the PIL against them.

With clear directions to Centre and state governments & the Mumbai police commissioner, Bombay High Court ordered them to respond to the PIL (Public Interest Litigation), seeking action to be taken against the organizers of the show, AIB Roast.

In addition, it also sought proper guidelines, which could be framed to regulate and control such shows.

Dr Sharmila Ghughe, a law professor had filed the PIL which says, "The petitioner is seeking indulgence of this court to issue directions in the larger public interest, so that the laws are adhered to, to protect the essence of dignity of women, maintain decent behavior in society and ensure the quintessence of democracy is not compromised in the name of comedy and entertainment."

PIL also states that, "Respecting dignity of women is an essential postulate of supreme law of the land. Moreover, India being the largest democracy in the world, it is not only important to monitor but also deracinate any act or statement which is in furtherance of lowering the dignity of women."

"The use of smutty and vulgar gestures during the show and indecorous and undignified remarks on women with reference to rape violates section 23 of the Indecent Representation of Women's Act," it adds.

The division bench headed by justices VM Kanade and Revati Mohite Dhere, have asked respondents to file their reply latest by March 3.
