New Delhi: Playback singer Ankit Tiwar, who has sung as many as songs for the flicks like Aashqui 2, Do dunni chaar, Saheb biwi aur Ganster and soon to release Ek Villain, was arrested by the Versova police early morning today for allegedly raping a girl in Mumbai.
The woman who claims singer's girlfriend, alleged him saying that he promised to marry her in six month or over but didn't kept up his words.
Ankit's brother Ankur Tiwari was also arrested for threatening the girl. Currently, it is not clear what charges have been framed against both brothers.
Among all the songs, Ankit is best known for humming ‘Sun Raha hai' in Mohit Suri's Aashiqui 2 which starred Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. The singer has also composed music and initially directed music for daily soaps.
Recently, the Salman Khan's close friend and actor Inder Kumar was also arrested for rape charges and is currently in police custody.
