New Delhi: Aamir Khan starrer PK could be the very first film to touch Rs. 300 crore mark on Indian box office. This is not just a speculation but the data and facts suggest that it could be very well expected.
Few Bollywood films have crossed Rs. 300 crore mark in terms of worldwide collection but no film has ever touched this figure at Indian market.
Though 100 crore club is getting bigger and bigger with all the leading actors of Bollywood touching it at least once,the Khan trio has been a regular at this coveted club with Salman making most of it.
Not only this,this year alone, both Salman and Shah Rukh crossed 200 crore mark with ‘Kick' and ‘Happy New Year.'
For the Bollywood actors 300 crore is still a dream. But it seems PK is going to be the first film to touch this milestone.
When asked if it is possible for PK to touch 300 crore mark, distributor and film business analyst Girish Johar told a leading daily, “PK is the kind of film which could well go to even Rs 250 or Rs 300 crore as it promises good content along with entertainment value. The names attached to the film are credible too.”
PK is a kind of film everyone would love, from intellectual class to hardcore masala fans. Aamir does not have crazy fans like Shah Rukh and Salman but everybody knows that he will be making a good film with wholesome entertainment and social message.
Films like ‘Kick' and ‘Happy New Year' have to credit their success to the stars like Salman and Shah Rukh more than the content but PK is expected to have a good quality content.
Names like Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra are also associated with PK who have a proven record of making great films like Munna Bhai and 3 Idiots.
Everybody would agree that promotions and marketing play huge role in the success of films and PK is getting very good hype with its out of the box promotion strategies.
PK releases on December 19 and the next big film will release on January 9 (Tevar), giving it 20 days of free run. And also the film is releasing on festive season of Christmas and New Year that will have a huge impact on its collection.
PK also stars Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles.
