Mumbai: Bollywood star Aamir Khan on Tuesday bought Shammi Kapoor's jacket that the latter wore while doing the famous Yahoo number in his film Junglee, says a media report.
Rare Bollywood memorabilia,including Shammi Kapoor's Junglee jacket and Lagaan bat, went under the hammer at an auction in New Delhi.
Aamir Khan, who is currently in Panchgani, purchased six collectors items, including Kapoor's jacket.
Aamir bid online and bought the jacket for Rs 1.1 lakh and five other collectors items for Rs 2.38 lakh.
Kapoors son Aditya said, "the jacket that Aamir has bought was worn by my father in many films. The famous scarf that Kapoor wore in Junglee,the sweater he sported in Andaaz and his pictures were also auctioned."
A Goregaon-based company,Kingdom of Dreams, purchased full rights of Kishore Kumar's last song for Rs 15.6 lakh at Osians-Cinefan auction.
The Lagaan bat was sold for Rs 1.56 lakh.
Hand-painted posters of films starring Amitabh Bachchan and late Rajesh Khanna were also on offer.
About 45 signed black-and white photographic stills of Dev Anand went for Rs 4.2 lakh.
Pather Panchali posters designed by Satyajit Ray, the turquoise silver ring worn by Farooque Sheikh in Umrao Jaan and outfits of Amjad Khan and Sanjeev Kumar from Shatranj Ke Khiladi were among the items auctioned.
MF Husain's autographed paint brush and some sketches for his film Gaj Gamini, photographic stills mounted on lobby cards and show-cards from Aan, Mother India, Dil Diya Dard Liya, Leader, Humraaz, Zanjeer and Aan Milo Sajna were also sold.
Baljraj Sahani's photograph from Garam Hawa went for Rs 1 lakh.
