New Delhi: ‘Aahat' – the cult horror TV series is back with its new edition. However, as against everybody's expectations, the show doesn't seem that impressive.
For all those who would be expecting grand with the elements of horror and spook in it, ‘Aahat' has come with a slight disappointment. The show that aired its first episode of the season the last night told the story of a little boy who gets associated with a ‘mother spirit.'
While the lady ghost becomes friends with that kid, she defies leaving his family after getting tied in an emotional bond with the kid as her mother. The lead performer in the first episode that happened to be one of the talented faces of India television – Shakti Anand seemed to be the only digest-able element (literally) in the show.
While the story didn't hold any intriguing factor to it, the worst was how it got told on TV.
Why would a 5-6-year-old kid visit a room on the top floor of the hotel where he is staying with his father and an elder sister on a holiday?
And the most interesting or rather funny twig about the episode being that room itself. The room that has been closed for many years by the hotel people is sealed with a paper. Yes, imagine a broad strip of a light white paper being glued to the door with ‘DO NOT ENTER' written over it, and that's what you called ‘sealing' a door.
And then when you start waiting for a few earth-shaking horrible scenes to come, you find a man whose face sides have been covered with his overtly grey hair (centrally parted). The man claims to save the family from the spirit that has entered the kid's house by sharing the same car that the family has used to reach their place back.
He tells the father the entire story about how the hotel owner used to beat his first wife and became so gruesome at a point that he threw her outside the house and took her baby from her.
And when the lady realized that her baby is no more, she lost her mental balance and killed both herself and her husband. He further explains that the spirit is searching for her own son in his son and therefore will not leave the family.
And while you were falling deep into the story, the man asks Shakti whether his son has got anything from that hotel room to the house. Shakti shows a tiny toy that her daughter gives him telling him that the kid has brought it from the hotel room.
The fun begins when the man advices Shakti to throw that tiny thing outside his house but he doesn't and keep on asking why-why-why! Dude, a man is threatening you and warning you against the evil that you might face if you don't throw that thing outside, and you are staring at him asking why repeatedly? – REALLY!!
Well, let's just hope that the coming episodes do not disappoint us more!
