New Delhi: The ace designer has ruled the Indian fashion circuit for over 2 decades now and it was a star studded opening to the Lakme Fashion Week with the veteran, Manish Malhotra showcasing his collection with a mirror twist.
His shows are always the ones to look out for and he always delivers a punch of entertainment mixed with plenty of creativity plus fashion in his signature style. The gala event kicked off with models strutting on the ramp. The collection was inspired by Rajasthan and Kutch, keeping in mind the colours and celebrations of Indian festivities and traditions.
The designs were full of mirror work embellishments, traditional colour blocking, traditional Kashmiri thread work in a palette that is a blend of youthful colours as well shades like mustard, deep green and dark beige that are characteristic to that region. The amalgamation of folk and contemporary work was the high point of the collection.
The collection was further glamourised by replacing the usual ghagras with shararas and flared pants.
Now, as expected the industry's who's who graced the occasion, Jacqueline Fernandez, Kajol, Karishma Kapoor, Tanishaa Mukerji and Urmila Matondkar, all looked stunning in Manish's designs.
Bollywood ace producers and directors, Farah Khan and Karan Johar were also seen supporting their designer friend Manish Malhotra.
The courtier never fails to give a healthy doze of glitz and glamour at his shows. And yet again he has delivered one hell of a show.
