Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor and co-star Nargis Fakhri kissed publicly as part of promotion for their film Rockstar on Tuesday. As the two stars kissed on stage, music maestro A R Rahman forgot his lyrics, says a report.
Ranbir And Nargis had turned up for A. R. Rahman's promotional concert at Bhawan's College Ground in Mumbai for Rockstar, scheduled to release on November 11.
At the concert, the focus was meant to be on the songs that Rahman has composed for the film.
However, as the voice of Mohit Chauhan, the male playback for all the songs of the film, took over with the sonorous romantic track Tum ho , Ranbir and Nargis probably decided the concert needed some steam.
In between the choreographed steps for Tum ho , Ranbir took Nargis in his arms and planted a firm kiss on her mouth.
The smooch of course is in sync with Ranbir's newfound status as Bollywood's Gen Now serial kisser.
With this, Ranbir has kissed almost all his co-stars, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba, in his films so far.
While the kiss hijacked all the limelight, A R Rahman inadvertently forgot the lyrics while singing the number, Naadan Parindey .
That, however, did not dampen the spirit of the crowd. The concert, a rare one that Rahman held in Mumbai, saw a primarily young crowd of around 10,000.
Reportedly, Rahman, Ranbir, Nargis and Mohit had rehearsed for four days for the show that lasted for about an hour. Entry was free.Ranbir has a liplock with Nargis in Rockstar and the scene has been touted as a highlight sequence.
Tuesday's on- stage kiss could probably have been a trailer to the real thing to come on screen. Tuesday evening's concert started with Saadda haq , the mascot song of Rockstar that has become a youth anthem of sorts.
“ Ranbir and Nargis seemed so lost in each other during their performance that it was almost as if they didn't care they were at a live concert. The liplock followed. A high point of the concert was unseen footage of late Shammi Kapoor that was played out for the audience in between the musical performances. The film marks Shammi's last outing on screen.Shammi s passed away on August 14, and the footage featuring him drew wide applause.
