This 2007 movie was based on Jhumpa Lahiri's book by the same name. Directed by Mira Nair, Tabu essayed the role of Ashima Ganguli brilliantly. Actor Irrfan Khan played Ashima's husband Ashoke and the movie depicted the struggles of the couple while settling in USA. If you are in for a watch that stirs your soul, this movie is a not miss. Vishal Bhardwaj roped in Tabu for the Bollywood adaptation of William Shakespeare's ‘Macbeth'. Tabu was delegated the role of evil Lady Macbeth, Nimmin in the movie. Though the movie bombed at the box office, Tabu's performance garnered loads of appreciation. A critic wrote, “Tabu shines in a dark role. The most versatile actress in Bollywood takes to villainy like a second nature. She is menacing and seductive, but keeps an innocent look on her face, making her even viler. The way Tabu delivers her taunts simply perfect. Her gradual insanity is heart-wrenching and her final outburst is easily the highlight of the film.”
