New Delhi: The year 2016 has set foot in our lives. As this New Year gives rise to new expectations, it is also time for Bollywood to begin a new chapter.

Like last year, Bollywood will treat its fans with a plethora of movies across genres in 2016. The biggest stars, path-breaking directors and renowned producers are all putting their best foot forward to make a film that is appreciated by its viewers.

Before Bollywood's Friday fever strikes you, we bring to you a list of movies to look forward to this year.

Raees:

If you haven't heard ‘Baniye Ka Dimaag aur Miyanbhai ki daring' by now, you are probably living under a rock. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan created quite a buzz when he shared teasers of the movie and by the look of it, it might turn out to be a legendary movie. Raees also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and will theatres on Eid.

Sultan:

Salman Khan's Sultan has kept viewers anticipated for quite some time now. The first look of Salman as Kesari Sultan, a wrestler of Haryana, broke the Internet almost instantly. Apparently, Sultan has finished its first schedule of shooting, without finalising Salman's ladylove. What makes Sultan much talked about is its clash with SRK's Raees.

Dangal:

Aamir Khan did not release any movie this year, but he is all set to give a Christmas gift to his fans with ‘Dangal'. He will essay the role of Mahavir Phogat, who trains his two daughters in wrestling in an orthodox village of Haryana. The two daughters go ahead and make India proud as they win medals at the world wrestling championship.

Wazir:

Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar starrer Wazir will release on 7th January. The thriller movie produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Bejoy Nambiar will see Big B, bound to a wheelchair. The movie's trailer testified that it is mysterious and intriguing, just like a game of chess, which has already risen the expectations of cine buffs.

Airlift:

Akshay Kumar asserted earlier that his 22nd January release ‘Airlift' will make viewers proud as Indians. Starring Nimrat Kaur as well, the movie based on biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war.

Fan:

This Maneesh Sharma directorial will see SRK in double roles, one as a star Aryan Khanna and the other as his die-hard fan Gaurav Chanana. The trailer which introduced Khan as Gaurav, left everyone spellbound making the wait till 15th April difficult.

Jai Gangaajal:

After impressing audiences as a FBI recruit, Priyanka Chopa will play the role of IAS officer Abha Mathur in this one. Directed by Prakash Jha, Piggy Chops has already garnered appreciation for her tough cop role as seen in the trailer. The movie is slated to hit theatres on 4th March.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil:

Directed by Karan Johar, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, boasts of a huge star cast. It has, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan.The movie which is shot in London and other parts of Europe will see Ranbir romancing Ash and will release in Diwali.

Rangoon:

This Vishal Bhardwaj's periodical drama stars Shahid Kapoor, Kanagana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan. Set in the backdrop of World War 2, this has a love triangle and the presence of Saif and Shahid together has already made it one of the most talked about films of this year. It will release on October 2.

Mohenjo Daro:

After directing Hrithik Roshan in Jodhaa Akbar, Ashutosh Gowariker is doing it again in this movie slated for an August 12 release. It is a period adventure and love story set during the Indus Valley Civilization. The movie has been in news because of the technology it is using to film the bygone era.
