New Delhi: Finally, the Alia Bhatt-Arjun Kapoor starrer has touched the milestone in its fourth week. The flick has minted Rs 100.7 cr in twenty three days in India.
Filmmaker Karan Johar confirmed the news tweeting, “#BOCapsule Extraordinary 100 cr crossed - 4th Week Saturday Box Office Collection Of #2STATES @aliaa08 @karanjohar http://ow.ly/wHXTp”
On its fourth Friday the flick collected Rs 70 lacs nett in India as confirmed by film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, “#2States [Week 4] Fri 70 lacs. Grand total: Rs 99.65 cr nett. Will cross Rs 100 cr mark today [Sat]. SUPER HIT.”
On its 23rd day, the flick showed a 50% growth from a day prior and collected Rs 1.05 cr at box office.
At overseas too, the Abhishek Varman directorial had a brilliant box office run in three weeks garnering Rs 33.59 cr.
“#2States Overseas total [after 3 weeks]: $ 5.6 million [Rs 33.59 cr]. USA-Canada $ 2.08 mn, UAE $ 1.23 mn, UK $ 806k, Australia $ 379k. WOW!”, confirmed Adarsh.
Based on the Chetan Bhagat novel with the same name, the flick also starred Ronit Roy
Amrita Singh, Revathy and Shiv Kumar Subramaniam. 2 States mostly received positive response and trade pundits predicted that it will enter the elite club of Rs 100 cr.
Now looking at the trends, the flick, which released on 18th April, is expected to finish its box office journey with the lifetime domestic collection of Rs 105 cr. We congratulate the makers and the entire case for its dream run at box office.
