10 most talked about bollywood debutants of 2015

New Delhi: The year 2015 was a great one for the Bollywood industry. Bollywood, saw performances which were impeccable, gave few masterpiece of movies to the world and broke mammoth records.

Bollywood's calendar cannot be complete without debutants trying to make their mark in the industry. This year too, the silver screen became home to many new comers.

Before the year ends, lets have a look at those who tried to make their mark in the industry:

1. Sooraj Pancholi:

Actor Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj Pancholi came in the bad books of Indian audience when he was blamed for actress Jiah Khan's suicide. Fortunately, for Sooraj, his Godfather Salman Khan overlooked this and launched him with his home production movie ‘Hero'. Though, the movie bombed at the box office, some veteran actors and tarde pundits, appreciated Sooraj's performance.

2. Athiya Shetty:

Daughter of actor Suniel Shetty, Athiya played Sooraj's ladylove in ‘Hero'. The actress has managed to make a mark as a fashionista. Her style made her the talk of the town and no one could stop crushing over them.

3. Kapil Sharma:

After becoming a household name with Comedy Nights With Kapil, Kapil Sharma turned towards silver screen with ‘Kis Kisse Pyar Karoon'. In this Abbas Mustan directorial, India's favourite comedian romanced three heroines. The movie was a hit, courtesy the loyal fan following which Kapil has.

4. Karan Johar:

Do you remember filmmaker Karan Johar's role in the hit movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge? Well, it was difficult to spot him in a blink of the eye role which he had. Thanks to director Anurag Kashyap, Karan got a chance to show his acting skills with ‘Bombay Velvet'. As the antagonist Kaizad Khambatta, he was pure evil. In fact, Karan was so happy being on the other side of camera, for a change that he is eagerly waiting for Anurag to cast him again.

5. Bhumi Padnekar:

Before coming on-screen for Yash Raj Films, Bhumi worked as an assistant to it's casting director Shanoo. While most actresses debut when they are 18 or 20, Bhumi was 30 when she starred opposite Ayushmaan Khurana in ‘Dum Laga Ke Haishaa'. Her performance left everyone stunned all and she sure is the next big thing in Bollywood.

6. Omkar Kapoor:

The kid who played young Salman Khan in Judwaa grew up to become the handsome Omkar Kapoor aka Tarun in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2. Despite the presence of other two actors in the movie, Omkar did not fade away. His performance sights towards a promising career in Bollywood.

7. Akshara Haasan:

The baby sister of actress Shruti Hassan, debuted in Bollywood with Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush starrer Shamitabh. The confident daughter of Kamal Hassan won hearts with her work so much so that even Big B didn't get tired from praising her.

8. Swastika Mukherjee:

Bong beauty Swastika Mukherjee turned to Bollywood with Dibakar Banerjee's Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! As one of the female leads in the film, the actress hardly had much to do in the movie, except for appearing in crucial moments of the film and help the story to move forward. But Swastika played her part of an eye-catching glamour quotient of the film to perfection.           

9. Gurmeet Chaudhary:

From playing Lord Rama on small screen to signing a Bhatt camp movie Gurmeet Chaudhary, did come a long way. In the thriller Khamoshiyaan, Gurmeet did justice to various shades of his character Jaidev. Well, this only shows that television actors can do well on the silver screen as well.

10. Karan Singh Grover:

Apart from Gurmeet, another TV actor marked his presence on the silver screen; Karan Singh Grover. The actor debuted opposite Bipasha Basu in horror flick, ‘Alone'. After this, he also starred in the commercial successful movie ‘Hate Story 3'; testifying that he is in Bollywood to stay.
