As it usually happens with item numbers, 'Munni', Dabangg's now-popular song has stirred a controversy and a Mumbaikar has filed a petition in the sessions court.
28-year-old Rajkumar B Tak, a resident of Vikhroli, has filed a petition against the song in the Sessions Court, claiming that it is unpatriotic and hurts the sentiment of every Indian citizen.
The lyrics "Munni badnaam hui Darling tere liye, Leh Hindustan hui darling tere liye" are disrespecting the nation by using the word 'Hindustan' in it, says the petition.
It goes on to say, "How can a character like Munni become Hindustan?"
Tak, has demanded that the word Hindustan be removed from the song before the film is released.
The notice has been sent to the film's producers, the director and the lyricist. The matter will be heard before a Sessions judge on Monday.
