Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero released last Friday and got a mixed response from critics and audience. The superstar plays the role of a vertically challenged person in Aanand L Rai's movie, which narrates the story of Bauua Singh's journey from Meerut to Mars. Written by Himanshu Sharma, Zero also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. While many praised Zero and SRK's performance, several critics were disappointed with it.

Coming out in defence of the film, Manmarziyaan and Kedarnath writer Kanika Dhillon has shared her opinion on Shah Rukh Khan starrer. She took to Twitter to call Zero, one of the most important films of 2018. The writer went to watch the film after reading all the reviews and was ''shocked''. ''Dedicated to the Screenwriters! Don’t ‘Dwarf’ your dreams! #ZeroReview or is it #reviewingthereview... don’t know... but why zero is one of the most important films of 2018!!!,'' she wrote. Along with it, she shared a two-page write up talking about elements that made Zero a different movie. She also called Zero one of the bravest films of 2018.

Virat Kohli also watched the film, in which his actress wife Anushka Sharma plays a scientist with cerebral palsy. The cricketer took to Twitter to shower praises on the movie, especially his wife. ''Saw @Zero21Dec and loved the entertainment it brought. I enjoyed myself. Everyone played their parts well. Loved @AnushkaSharma performance because I felt it was a very challenging role and she was outstanding,” he wrote.

Zero made a decent opening with Rs 20.14 crore. However, on Saturday, it witnessed a dip with total collection of Rs 18.22 crore. The movie has so far earned Rs 38.36 crore.
