Women of Kalank: Madhuri Dixit as Bahaar Begum reminds us of Devdas’ Chandramukhi 

The sixth and final poster of Abhishek Varman’s Kalank. In the final poster, the makers have revealed the look of Madhuri Dixit as Bahaar Begum. The poster carries the hues of red, following the similar tones with the previous ones featuring Alia Bhatt and Sonakshi Sinha. In the poster, she is wearing a red veil-like dupatta over her head. Introducing herself from Kalank, she wrote, “It was my honour to play such an enchanting character. Guys, here’s Bahaar Begum!

Previously, Alia Bhatt and Sonakshi Sinha’s look from the film were revealed. Alia wore a red dupatta over her head while her jewellery was royal reminding us about Padmaavat. She is playing the character named Roop in the film. Going by the poster, we can see that she’s essaying the role of a royal woman who is blessed with this enchanting beauty.

Sonakshi Sinha is playing the role of Satya, a woman who keeps the family together. There’s an amount of subtlety in her guise in Kalank. She’s is donning a simple avatar with a vermillion on her forehead.

Karan Johar's father, the late Yash Johar, was supposed to direct Kalank. Pre-production had begun, but it got shelved.

Now, Karan has passed the baton on to filmmaker Abhishek Varman. "I am now proud to pass it on to the extremely capable and visionary hands of director Abhishek Varman. Kalank has a beautifully structured story by Shibani Bathija and an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek," the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director said in a statement.

Kalank is scheduled to open in theatres on April 19.
