Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier took the internet by storm with a clip of her song. The lady, popularly, known as the ‘winking girl’ became an overnight star and people started calling her nation’s latest crush. Now, if latest reports are to be believed, the lady will be seen sharing the screen space with actor Ranveer Singh in his upcoming film Simmba. Speculations about the leading lady of the film have been doing the rounds from quite some time. Sara Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Janhvi Kapoor’s names also popped up for the role.
After Priya’s video went viral on social media, she was loaded with lots of offers. It is being said that filmmaker Karan Johar, who is bankrolling Simmba, is also keen to cast the lady in the film.
A source revealed to Deccan Chronicle, “The girl's role is not so big in the film. But Priya has become an overnight craze with the wink of an eye. Bollywood is interested in her. And who better equipped to consolidate Priya's supremacy in the virtual world in the arena of cinema than Karan Johar?”
However, nothing official can be said as of now. On a related note, Ranveer Singh is riding high on success after his last film Padmaavat did wonderful collection at the box office. The film was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
