Why Kedarnath is better debut of Sara Ali Khan than Simmba?

Sara Ali Khan in Kedarnath

Fridays make Bollywood celebs feel butterflies in their stomach. Excitement and nervousness go hand in hand until audience's reactions and box office collection are out. Newbie Sara Ali Khan is no different. She must have kept her fingers crossed as her Bollywood debut Kedarnath has released today. When the film got mired into controversy, in no time, she bagged her second project, Simmba. While you can call it a result of nepotism, you can't deny the fact that she is one of the most promising newcomers we have seen in the last few years.

There was a time when Kedarnath was put on back-burner and ''terrified'' Sara felt that her first film would never see the light of day. It was thought that Simmba would be her first Bollywood outing, only to be proven wrong. Both the films belong to different genres and Sara's characters are different as well (though not much). Sara plays an outspoken, bubbly girl in both but her character's backgrounds are poles apart. While in Kedarnath, she is Mukku, daughter of a Hindu priest in the holy town, in Rohit Shetty's directorial, her character is set in the fictional town of Shivgad. While one is a slightly off-beat romantic drama, the other one is a masala entertainer. Kedarnath and Simmba are releasing within a short gap and we are excited to see a new talent blooming in the Hindi film industry.

Since the release of Kedarnath trailer, our expectations from this newbie have been soaring high. Kedarnath being a romantic film exploits the potential of Sara to the fullest. The trailer of Abhishek Kapoor's film shows us various shades of Sara and we don't feel even once that it's her debut. Kedarnath's Mukku is motor-mouthed, which Sara is in real-life and we absolutely love it. On the other hand, in Ranveer Singh's starrer Simmba trailer, which released a few days back, Sara seems to be playing just an eye-candy. In Rohit Shetty's directorial, we get a glimpse of Sara and all we can say is that she is probably filling the space for 'heroine' in the action drama.

Though Simmba can be a money-churner, it is Kedarnath through which she will leave ever-lasting imprints on audience's minds. You can compare for yourself by watching both the trailers below:

On most of the occasions, Sara Ali Khan has single-handedly done Kedarnath's promotions and that shows how confident she is. Her TV debut with Koffee With Karan Season 6 brought much love and appreciation from all the corners. She was unabashed in the episode with her thoughts clear. No doubt why Sara is enjoying a huge fan-following even before the release of her first film.
