When it comes to movie title battles in Bollywood, there have been a number of bad instances in the past. Now, two veteran actresses Sridevi and Raveena Tandon recently underwent a similar clash however, the two graceful stars sorted the matter in a peaceful manner.
Here’s what happened
Raveena’s film was titled “The Mother” but now, the filmmakers have changed the name to “Maatr” as Sridevi’s upcoming movie “Mom” has already been announced to the public.
Recently, Sridevi herself released the poster of her film and, received much attention from public as well as critic.
While both the films share similar titles, their story is entirely different and not connected at all.
Raveena’s “Maatr”, is a hard-hitting drama about rape and its director Ashtar Sayed said that they were planning to use the title “The Mother” for their film but that title wasn’t available.
“’Also, we didn’t want any connect in the audience’s mind with Mother 98. Moreover, we were aware that Mr Boney Kapoor was also making a movie titled Mom. So, we felt that Maatr — The Mother was the best for our film. We are happy with the title”, he said in an interview with a leading daily.
On the other hand, Sridevi’s “Mom”traces the fragile relationship between a stepmother (Sridevi) and her 18-year-old daughter (Pakistani actress Sajal Aly).
Now, that the two veteran actresses are making their HUGE comeback this year, fans are eager to get a glimpse of these true beauties!
