Veteran actor Om Puri died on Friday morning due to a massive heart attack at his residence here. He was 66.

As the news trickled out, the entire Hindi film industry expressed their shock and grief. Superstar Salaman Khan, with whom the 66-year-old actor will be seen for the last time in ‘Tubelight’, also mourned the demise of legendary actor Om Puri.

Besides posting a picture of his ‘Tubelight’ co-star on Instagram and writing a heartfelt caption for him, Salman also tweeted a segment of Om Puri’s interview from India TV’s ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ programme, hosted by Editor-in-chief Mr Rajat Sharma.

In the video, Om Puri repeats one of his most iconic dialogues from 1983 release ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’, one of the most loved comedy films of all time.

“Draupadi teri akele ki nahi hai ... hum sab shareholder hai (Draupadi is not just yours... we are all equal shareholders)”

The actor even mentioned that this particular clip from India TV’s famous show will find place in his obituary.

Om Puri, who acted in both mainstream and art films, was known for his gritty performances in a number of landmark films in the 1980s. He also appeared in a number of British films, including a cameo in Richard Attenborough's epic on Mahatma Gandhi.

Om Puri was awarded the Padma Shri, the country’s fourth highest civilian award, in 1990.

Om Puri in Rajat Sharma's show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ will be telecast tonight on India TV at 10 pm.
