Actor Ajith’s latest release Vivegam has entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club worldwide in four days of its release. Not only in India, the movie is doing wonderful business at international box office as well. The figures were shared by Industry tracker Ramesh Bala. The movie minted Rs 93.77 lakh in Australia and Rs 88.16 lakh in the United Kingdom. Despite getting mixed reviews, the movie is doing wonders as the actor enjoys huge fan following.
Ramesh tweeted, “#Vivegam 1st Weekend (Aug 24th - 27th) WW BO:#India - ₹ 69.50 Cr Overseas - ₹ 36.50 Cr Total - ₹ 106 Cr A Non-Rajini/Shankar Record!”
The major credit of the film’s success goes to Ganesh puja holiday weekend. During the first four days, the movie witnessed houseful cinema halls. In US, Vivegam is fighting the box office battle with Telugu film Arjun Reddy that is also doing a great business.
In Chennai, the movie did terrific business and collected 1.21cr on the first day leaving behind Rajinikanth starrer Kabali that earned Rs 1.12 crore.
The movie marks the Tamil debut of ctor Vivek Oberoi, who is seen playing antagonist. Actress Kajal Aggarwal is also seen playing a pivotal role in Vivegam.
